Camino de Santiago desde Holanda

I have always believed that the Camino de Santiago starts in our house´s door and that´s why I have decided to head to Santiago from my domicile in The Hague, Netherlands.

This is a map with the different routes I might take.

It hash´t been easy to decide which route to take but after thinking a lot I have decided to follow the Deltapad from Den Haag to Bergen op Zoom, from there the Via Brabantica, then Via Mosana and G654 till Vezelay. Once in Vezelay I will continue to Le Puy, Saint Jean de Pied de Port and finally to Santiago.

After having spent my last summer holidays with my horse going through different trails in the mountains I have developed a big trust in him and therefore i have though that it would be nice to do this trail together. I know it will make the trip more difficult but this trip is about adventure and challenges. His name is Greco and he is a PRE (Andalusian Horse).

He will do the route bit-less and shoes-less. (I will take horse boots)

The route will go across several countries.

ROUTE IN THE NETHERLANDS

1. Hoek van Holland -Brielle.  The distance is 26,5 km
